Schedule
for the Week:
-
Adult
Bible Study (Sunday Morning at 10:30): We have
spent the past few
years simply reading through the Old Testament books. Christ says
that all the Law and Prophets (an ancient reference to the Old
Testaments Scriptures) speak of Him. So, we look for Christ Jesus
in every verse and paragraph. And, of course, where we find Christ
we also find his reason for coming, that is, our desperate need for a
savior.
-
Mid-week
Bible Study (Wednesday Morning at 9:00 a.m.): We
have been studying
the Book of Concord (1580), which is a collection of very important
writings that were an important part of the Reformation. The book
serves as a wonderful commentary on the Scriptures, and gives our
study a topical Bible Study structure. Our study is important, still
there are two other highlights to this class. The first is the good
fellowship. The second is that we are often moved by our study to
consider a variety of current events that raise questions for
today’s
Christians. Everyone who participates has said many times how
valuable our studies have been in making clear our faith in the
context of our times. We have nearly finished the book and are
considering where to best put our future energies.
-
Sunday
Afternoon Study (Sunday afternoons about 2 times a month at 1:00):Many wanted to be with us on
Wednesday morning, but were not able
because of work and the like. So, in July, we started a different
group for studying the Book of Concord. For each class we gather
for a pot-luck at a different class member’s home. Then we
turn
our attention to study, which we try to keep to an hour. It is
always a good time for you to start, so please accept our invitation
and call the church to find out where and when the next meeting will
be.
-
Adult
Information Classes: Pastor teaches classes on the chief
doctrines of
the Christian faith. The purpose of the class is to prepare adults
for membership in our church. We welcome those who have no interest
in membership, or who aren’t sure, to use the classes to
learn
about our church and others. Questions are always welcome; they keep
the class lively and relevant to today’s issues.
